Oldtime Baseball Game with Lou Merloni
Lou Merloni, who played nine seasons in the major leagues, including six seasons with his hometown Boston Red Sox, will come out of retirement to play in the 16th Annual Injured Workers Pharmacy Oldtime Baseball Game on Thursday, August 13, at 7 p.m. at St. Peter’s Field in North Cambridge.
Managing in the Oldtime Baseball Game will be two World Series participants from the 1940s: Red Sox legend Johnny Pesky, who played in the 1946 World Series, and Boston native Lennie Merullo, who played for the Chicago Cubs in the 1945 World Series. A special ceremony will take place to honor Pesky, who turns 90 in September.
The rain date for the Oldtime Baseball Game is Friday, August 14, also at 7 p.m.
